To our knowledge, this is the first English translation of Eugen von Böhm-Bawerk’s seminar paper 1876. Böhm-Bawerk apparently thought his 1876 had some significance. Still, he chose not to publish it during lifetime. This understandable given that _Capital and Interest_ was available, but more difficult understand why published after death in 1914. draws from three sources German: (1) original handwritten located Hayek Library at University Salzburg; (2) a transcription Ludwig Mises Collection Grove City College Archives; (3) by Kiichiro Yagi March 1983.
